Why a Military Discount?

Posted by westplainsquiltco on Friday, March 13th, 2009

Why do we give a military discount?

I'll tell you why, kitty kats!  We love the men and women of the military.   My husband and I are both still serving, and I feel it's important to give a little back to the folks in uniform.  You hear about fast food chains giving a discount, why not a quilt shop? Here's a photo of my husband and I with Bryce Fisher from the Seattle Seahawks.  Isn't he hot?!   My husband, I mean...

Blog4_Bryce

My hair looked good that day.  Bryce was in the Washington Air National Guard and this picture was taken right after they were robbed of their Superbowl.

The 10% discount is open to all serving members of the military, retirees and their dependents.  All I ask in return is you drop me a line when you order and let me know your affiliation with the military, maybe share some of your history with us.  It's fun to see the different types of duty where my customers served.  It also gives us a shared bond between quilters and military members.

Use discount code 141ARW when checking out.

If you have any questions, just give me a shout!  Or a Hoorah...

  • Your military discount caught my eye when I was doing the shophop. My husband was stationed at Fairchild in 1958 and we lived in Hayford (which doesn't exist anymore). Daughter was born at Fairchild. Later in life I was in the Army Reserves from 1974 to 1998 when I retired from the 817th Evacuation Hospital in Webster, NY. So, I will keep your store on my list and use it if I am looking for something even though it is quite a distance away. Thankyou for your and your husband's service and your military discount.

  • Thank you for serving! You and your husband are the ones who picked up the torch when my husband retired from the Army. Glen is now 83 years old, served WW2, Korea, and 3 tours in Vietnam. And the military discount does help!

I miss him every singe day of my life but I am proud he stood for what he believed. He was PA Army National Guard driving a bradley when he was hit. My dh served 26 years in the Navy. Thank you again for continuing to give to your country.

  • I retired from the Air Force as a Tech Controller and currently command a Civil Air Patrol squadron (the Air Force's best kept secret). My husband retired from the Supply Sq. at McGuire AFB. We are also a military family. My nephew, one of the AF's newest airmen said that he was fated to enlist, it is the family business.

  • I am proud to say that I served 8 yrs in the USAF as an Aircrew Life Support Tech and then as a Med Tech. My husband is a retired Meterologist. Our last duty station was Ft Polk, LA (yes, there are AF people here too) and we both still work on post, training & helping those who defend our country. We are so proud to be part of such a wonderful orginization: the US Armed Forces! Thank you for your service! Stay safe and good luck!

  • <b>I loved finding your pictures in uniform! I flew on the C-121 during my time in the Air Force & later married a jet engine mechanic who served 28 years. I had to chuckle, as my handsome CMS had very similar hair!

  • Well OMG!! I'm so thankful I found your site. My husband is retired Navy, I'm xNavy and my Son served 4 years in the USAF. You see we are a military family. I'm thrilled to see that you offer a military discount. As a volunteer Leader with 4H our quilt club makes at least one Quilt of Valor every year. It's important to me for our youth to see how important the military is in our lives. God Bless the USA!! Bravo Zulu!

  • Please be sure to join Washington State Quilters (Spokane Chapter) if you are not already a member. Putting your ad in the quarterly newsletter would let folks know you are local, and charming, to boot!

  • Thank you so much for what you and your husband do! To be honest, you have just gotten my business (store has been bookmarked). Being an Army Wife, I find it hard to add to my fabric addiction and am always looking for stores when we move. Be blessed.

  • Thank you and your hubby both for serving our great Country! May God Bless you both and keep you safe always. Thank you for offering a military discount to all those who serve. My son is in the NC ARNG. It means so much to me when I see things like this - because frankly sometimes people just don't seem to care! What a way to say you do! I will pass your web site on at the next guild meeting and to all my quilter friends across the USA!

I am very, very proud of him and those that serve with him. Plus, now that I've found you, I see that our family isn't the only one that is military AND quilting - they can peacefully coexist!! Thanks again!
